I was just unpacking my brand new LocalDeck and was following the instructions on this page.

As soon as I finished WiFi setup via Captive Portal, my Home Assistant discovered the device via ESPHome integration, even though at that time I didn’t have the add-on installed. Then, watching the video, I realized I need to add the ESPHome add-on as well. But, after installing the add-on, my LocalDeck wasn’t showing up in the add-on at all. Then I deleted the entry from the integration, restarted LocalDeck and then the add-on discovered it. However, when performing the update, the update failed.

The LocalDeck Configurator add-on seems to be working fine.

There is this confusion where the video talks about ESPHome add-on, while, in my Home Assistant’s add-on store there are three add-ons to choose from: ESPHome Device Builder (dev), ESPHome Device Compiler and ESPHome Device Compiler (beta). So, which one should I use?

Anyway, I went with ESPHome Device Compiler add-on, and here is the update-failed log:
