Missing ESPHome Smart Plug entry in Home Assistant

I have ten LocalBytes ESPHome Smart Plugs installed and configured with DHCP Reservation IP Addresses.

I can open all of them in a browser without any issue.

They all appear in MQTT Explorer under Tasmota > Discover.

However, one of the plugs does not appear in Home Assistant although all others do. TBH, I don’t know whether it had been there and has ‘dropped’ or whether it has never been there. If I attempt to add it, I receive this message: Unable to connect to the ESPHome device. Make sure the device’s YAML configuration includes an api section. I have checked all the plugs by adding /api after their IP address. In all cases, I receive the following:
File Not Found

URI: /api
Method: GET
Arguments: 0

I am seeking any suggestions to resolve this issue without having to start afresh with this device.

Thanks for stopping by.

It seems like you might be mixing up Tasmota and ESPHome. It’s easily done!

Unless you have explicitly enabled MQTT on an ESPHome device, the fact that it’s showing up in MQTT explorer would suggest the plugs run Tasmota. Especially if they’re showing up under Tasmota in MQTT explorer.

As a result, you will want to add them using the Tasmota integration as opposed to ESPHome.
