Smart Plug power up state

I’ve got several smart plugs, and they all switch on when power is supplied (e.g. are plugged into a live socket, power restored after a cut etc.)

Is there a way to alter this so that by default they start in the “Off” position, thus avoiding items being turned on after a power cut ?

I’ve had a look, and I’m clearly doing something wrong, but what ?

Taking the command syntax from the top of
https://tasmota.github.io/docs/Commands/#poweronstate
and using a Linux terminal,

$ http://192.168.1.154/cm?cmnd=PowerOnState%20OFF
which gets a response of:
$ http://192.168.1.154/cm?cmnd=PowerOnState%20OFF: No such file or directory

Using a space character rather than %20 makes no difference.

You’re fairly close! To make the web request from a Linux terminal, you’ll need to use a program like curl or wget.

Something like

curl 'http://192.168.1.154/cm?cmnd=PowerOnState%20OFF'
