Hi,
I have numerous of the Tasmota flashed Smart Plugs which work well on my home wifi. Recently I have been attempting to use one connected to a Raspberry Pi 4B using the Pi’s internal wifi device as a hotspot. The pi configuration allow phones and tablets to connect successfully. However when I try to connect the plug it does not maintain connection very well if at all. Ping’ing the plug sometimes is successful some time not best successful ping rate achieved has bee 25% (75% packet loss) This is enough to get the web interface up but not good. The plug works fine on a Deco wifi access point.
I have tried (using the nmcli command on the pi) to restrict the 802.11 to bg and even b to no effect. If I move the channel around I can get better or worse but not good performance - best being channel 6. I can get small bursts of good ping performance but then nothing for extended periods of time.
Has anyone else got this to work - if so how?
David
