I bought 2 of the UK PM sockets about 2 years ago, only just got around to using them since Wemo sunsetted theirs back in Jan, and seemingly bricking them/stopping them reporting power usage
I set one up for my computers, and shortly after whilst playing games/generally using it, everything turned of - the socket was powered still and i could immediately turn my computer back on etc, but then it did it again shortly after so i stopped using the device.
I have It connected to Home Assistant, and i notice the last reboot reason messages are things like
Exception
Hardware Watchdog
Software Watchdog
And again overnight, whilst it was connected, but nothing running off it, it restarted with reason “ Software/System restart”
I’m not drawing much through it, maybe 500w at most, but the fact it drops power and causes my system to shut down/reboot means i dont have a lot of faith in using it currently. Could this be a faulty unit? Or maybe a firmware issue? I realize im probably way our of warrenty with the device as i bought it in apr 2024, but i’ve only just started using it and its a shame im having problems.
I did also buy a 2nd device at the time which is currently only connected to a floor fan, but that hasnt yet exhibited the same problem - i might switch my desk over to that one at the weekend to see what happens, but mostly just reaching out to see if anyone has had or seen this problem before
