LED bulb lost tasmota module config

I had some power issues today, and loads of my devices (LocalBytes and Tasmota) have lost all their settings. One RGB bulb however went further and lost its Local Bytes tasmota module config and shows up as a Sonoff Basic (except turning it “off” just makes it go green rather than white.

Can you provide the correct Tasmota module config line to fix it (I’m sure I can get it out of another bulb eventually, but don’t want to get it wrong )

@archie Being relatively new to all this (bought my first batch of 25 smart plugs only in April) I’m wondering/concerned about these losing their configuration due to simple things like power cuts. We have plenty power cuts in rural Ireland, is there anything I can do to prevent that from happening (assuming that this issue also applies to ESPHome plugs)?

It’s rare for a single power cut to wipe out the device.
The more common outcome is a power cut followed by periods of instability, which are what trigger the reset

From the Tasmota docs:

If you have a weak power grid or frequent power brownouts it’s best to disable this feature with SetOption65 1 immediately or you’ll end up with firmware default devices after a brownout event.
Tasmota / Device Recovery / Fast Power Cycle Device Recovery

But this may impact your ability to recover the device in case of a WiFi issue.
I believe we set WifiConfig to 2 (but don’t quote me on that), meaning if your plug can’t connect, it’ll create its setup network again.

jane_t is correct; the ESPHome plugs will not suffer the same fate. However, this doesn’t mean they can’t run into issues.
ESPHome will detect frequent restarts and can trigger a “safe boot”, which will disable a lot of the components.
It will then slowly bring everything back online to ensure the device runs okay.

I doubt you could reset the settings in ESPHome as they are baked into the firmware. Tasmota stores settings separately on the device and can be changed on the fly.
