SaaX I’m wondering/concerned about these losing their configuration due to simple things like power cuts.
It’s rare for a single power cut to wipe out the device.
The more common outcome is a power cut followed by periods of instability, which are what trigger the reset
SaaX We have plenty power cuts in rural Ireland, is there anything I can do to prevent that from happening

I believe we set WifiConfig
to 2
(but don’t quote me on that), meaning if your plug can’t connect, it’ll create its setup network again.
SaaX assuming that this issue also applies to ESPHome plugs
jane_t is correct; the ESPHome plugs will not suffer the same fate. However, this doesn’t mean they can’t run into issues.
ESPHome will detect frequent restarts and can trigger a “safe boot”, which will disable a lot of the components.
It will then slowly bring everything back online to ensure the device runs okay.
