Having a hard time setting up new smart plugs. Wanted tasmota ones but only esphome available, but I saw you could reflash to tasmota so ordered them…. big mistake!
So the first one I plugged in, connected to my network and it was discovered by my openhab server (once I installed esphome addon) but I couldn’t get it to control the device. OK I thought I’ll reflash to tasmota, have 7 of those already working perfectly. How do I do that? It doesn’t have a Web interface enabled so I can do OTA update. After unplugging and replugging I can see it in the active ip addresses in my router, but openhab can’t see it and ping fails.
OK move onto device #2 this time I downloaded and reflashed with tasmota-lite.bin.gz before reconfiguring network. Device rebooted and I got the tasmota network config page, put in the details of my network (which it tested and liked) and rebooted. I can see it as an active ip in my router but again can’t ping it
Onto plug #3 ….. again I thought I’d reflash with tasmota before connecting to my network but this time using full tasmota.bin.gz however it says there’s not enough space …. gave up at this point!
So I have
1 running esphome I can’t talk to
1 running tasmota-lite I can’t talk to
1 unchanged that I want running tasmota
Any tips or ideas how I can move forward gratefully received
Thx
