Local Deck seemingly dead after OTA update.

Got my deck on launch day (number 47) and immediately set about writing automations to sync the state, colour and brightness of my lights with the deck lights. The automations for the most part worked great so I didn’t see the need to update the firmware once these features had been added to the Deck Configurator. Today I found myself a little bored so decided to turn off my automations and update, after all I could just switch back if I didn’t like it.

So I added the relevant options in the Deck Configurator and updated OTA though ESP Home. My deck now seems totally dead and unresponsive.

I have tried:

Using ESP Home Flasher with both Legacy and Modern formats.
Using ESP Home Web to flash both Legacy and Modern formats.

2a. Also tried using ESP Home in Home Assistant to reflash over serial USB.

Using the python esp-tool to erase the flash before retrying the above methods.
Using the espressif web tool to erase the flash before retrying the above methods.

Nothing is working to bring this deck back to life and I’m really regretting trying update….

Any ideas?

If you try downgrading the Deck Configurator addon to v0.5 and then apply that does it work?

Seems like I just had the same issue using a v6 dev build and reverting back to plain v0.5 fixed it for me

Support have stopped answering my emails and now I don’t know what to do.

Hey.

When you goto the ESPHome site below using chrome and connect. Do you see the device connected to the PC. I am presuming you tried to erase and install. ?

Yes I tried erasing and reflashing.

I do see the device connected at that address. it’s not totally dead as it will connect to my network but after a flash with yaml produced by the configuratior, it is totally non-responsive.

I did have one or two replies from support in the end and they asked to have my yaml to test. They have been silent for two weeks now so my deck is currently a brick.
