LocalDeck - Cannot get it working

Hi,

I have written on a few posts but my deck seems really flakey. I resorted to plugging via USB to even get the thing updated and try to get on wifi, it seems to connect but ESPHome says it is offline, and HA hardly works.

In the logs on USB I see lots of errors about API timeout to HA and ESP, but then sometimes they go away, and things work for a bit, but then it reboots itself 🙁

I also noted Configurator v0.2.2 I cannot select the HA entities, i can see them appearing, but if I select them the entry is not completed, I have to fill the whole thing manually.

A bit dissapointed that this doesnt seem to work as expected 🙁

I also noted when it is working the follow state is broken too … so lights are always on, logs complain about being unable to set brightness for “white”?

I had the same problem with the follow state & get the white value error (Button 23 Light’ - This color mode does not support setting white value). Could this be that it’s an RGB LED, not RGBW?

With the state follow problem, I had a look at the yaml & (while I’m not too good at scripting) I found that if I switch off the key LED & the linked light entity off, then press the button, the light.turn_on event works fine, but it doesn’t seem to have generated anything for the light.turn_off event.

Thanks for the reply. I am not sure TBH, when I got it on Saturday it was working perfectly (with a single light entity), then by the time I got time to actually mess with it Sunday/Monday things had updated and it’s now broken/unstable.

I will await things settling down.

@AAllport - any updates on what is happening? My deck is not working due to all the issues …

I’m sorry to hear you’re having issues with the LocalDeck.

So … we are aware of the issue with the latest version of the configurator and are currently working on a fix. To improve our testing process, we are also in the process of separating the development releases from the public releases. This will allow us to conduct more thorough testing before any release is made available. 🙂

As a small business, we have but one full time employee splitting his time between shipping out products and also fixing bugs. We really appreciate your patience!!
