Tasmota or ESP?

I’m looking to use a smartplug controlled just by simple REST (http) commands to switch it on or off. So no home controller. For ease of setup and maintenance, am I better to specify Tasmota or ESP?

And there’s basically no difference in the above respects is one or the other more stable & better maintained?
