LB Bulb disconnections

Hi,

I got a smart bulb a couple months ago, alongside smart plugs. I finally got round to installing the smart bulb yesterday but noticed some odd behaviour.
After the bulb was on at full brightness for more than I’d say 5 mins, it disconnected from the WiFi and was unreachable from home assistant or even the Tasmota interface by accessing the device’s IP in browser, but the light was stuck on at full brightness. I had to disconnect it from power for more than 20 seconds, and only then powering it back us did it resume the connection and I could switch off the bulb.
It was slightly more stable with just having a single colour, when I set it on with a fixed red colour it was fine, but would flicker once every 30-40 seconds. From viewing the home assistant logs, the cause for the drop was the bulb dropping its WiFi connection and reconnecting.

I had a look at other forum posts and there was only one similar to this, but theirs was resolved my moving the bulb closer to the wifi, however mine is about a meter from the router.
Based on the behaviour I’ve described above, I can only imagine this is some kind of overheating issue within the bulb. Let me know if you have any suggestions.

Does your router give any more information about why the disconnect happens? We’ve seen a few times that some “smart” network gear will kick devices off if they do not send enough data. Unify calls this their minimum data rate. Please see information below:

Unfortunately, my router doesn’t give any information about why the disconnect happens.
I checked the logs for the router, but it just notes that there was a disconnect, and then produces a couple of logs upon reconnect which don’t seem to give any information either relevant to the disconnect.

I looked at the logs of the actual bulb itself, from the Tasmota console, and it seems that the hardware watchdog reset is occurring, according to the logs. From what I’ve been able to find about that, the power supply within the bulb seems to be faulty. Let me know if you want me to send you the logs.

Thanks for your patience - I had to ask a colleague for advice with this one!

So we agree that, if you’re seeing a Watchdog, there may be an issue with the internal PSU.

If that is the issue, we may be able to get a replacement out to you. However, to rule out a software issues, could you please try doing an upgrade with:

Thanks for the reply, I’ve updated the firmware on the bulb now and it seems a little more stable on red light, but unfortunately, I was still getting a full disconnection when I put the light on full brightness.
