Hi Adam,
adam I replaced the capacitors and got them working again
In the future, please do not do this!
If there's a hardware fault, we're always happy to do our best to assist.
With that specific batch, we're aware of shorter lifespans (due to a faulty capacitor), so we have been going beyond our replacement windows to ensure our customers are taken care of
Our devices are not designed to be user-serviceable in this way, as it can lead to injury during the modification and future operation!
adam I'm not too bothered about the power as they monitor something that's always on, but from a safety point of view, I may take one to bits and look to replace the relay.
We are aware that some types of devices will fuse the relay.
To address this, we have recently upgraded to a 16A relay (although the devices are still only certified to 13A due to the UK electrical standard).
We would advise anyone struggling with this issue to contact support and do our best to help.
The last thing I'd want is for any of our customers to run into a serious issue caused by one of our devices!
