Tasmota Smart plug not connecting to network, no web interface

Issue occurred recently when one of my smart plugs stopped connecting to the WiFi.
Tried a different location nearer the router and still no luck.
I tried a button hold reset (40s) and a powercycle reset but I do not get a web interface.
I can ping the device on its own network (192.168.4.1). but then I try to view the page I get an empty response, connection reset or timeout error.
any ideas on how to troubleshoot this?

LSelter Any chances you have a router with dual wifi stack? That is, with both 2.4GHz and 5GHz radio?

I had some weird wifi issues with a Tasmota smart plug yesterday (not from LB, but it might be ESP32 issue), and it turned out to be because of this. If you have dual wifi, maybe try disabling 5GHz and see if that helps. It’s a total stab in the dark, though.

After doing this, you will probably have to reapply the Tasmota template, which can be found here:

Sorry, I missed the power cycle reset on your first post.

Could you please confirm that when attempting to visit the web page, you are attempting to connect via http and not https as many browsers do by default now.

Could you please tell us what type of device you’re trying to connect with?
