Cannot connect LB Bulb to Home Assistant after flashing to ESPHome

Hello,

I have been trying to flash ESPHome onto an LB Bulb and connect it to Home Assistant using https://github.com/JamesSwift/localbytes-bulb-9w-rgbct. I have got as far as replacing Tasomota and connecting the ESPHome bulb to my home WiFi network, however the bulb is not detected automatically by Home Assistant. I can see its IP address in my router’s interface, but using that to manually add it as an ESPHome device gives me

Can't connect to ESP. Please make sure your YAML file contains an 'api:' line.

Any help/advice would be appreciated. I have set up a LB Plug with ESPHome on the same network.

sounds like you just have basic esphome without any config.

are you able to adopt it in the esphome builder tool?
then you can add the functionality by adding the config,
