It might be worth increasing the ap_timeout
to a longer timeframe. However, this shouldn’t be necessary. Once the ESPHome plug “sees” your WIFI network, it will attempt to reconnect to it, even if it’s started broadcasting its hotspot.
An issue you may experience, is Home Assistant being unable to tell the plug to power on if it is connected to the access point that is being rebooted. The plug should have a “Restart” button available in Home Assistant. If you use this you shouldn’t run into issues. However if you have an automation that separately turns off then turns on the plug, you may do.
