Hi everybody,
I have had some issues with LocalDecks, which LocalBytes Support helped me with. A couple of weeks ago I finally was able to set up a working device. I provisioned it via Home Assistant and left it as is (no custom configuration, no LocalDeck Configurator).
After updating the device due to ESPHome updates, it would not work any longer. It would start, show the rainbow LED animation, that was it. Not connecting to Home Assistant, not registering any button presses.
The only way to get it back to even connect to my local WiFi network was to re-install ESPHome (minimal version) via web.esphome.com; then it would connect to WiFi, but not have any function(s) (of course). Then I would use LocalDeck Configurator to actually load the LocalDeck firmware onto the device.
That would work, however, while the device would connect to WiFi, it would not be stable in Home Assistant. In fact, it would make HA restart every now and then. (I cannot say for sure that it was caused by the LocalDeck, but I can say that these constant restarts of Home Assistant stopped the very instance I unplugged the LocalDeck and they started when I plugged it back in - so Iโm kinda sure that that was it).
Is there any way I can flash the firmware that was originally installed on the LocalDeck when I received it (December 2024)? That firmware worked fine for weeks! My only error was updating the firmware, thatโs when things broke. Using LocalDeck Configurator just made things worse. But going back to whatever firmware was flashed onto the device when I originally provisioned it ought to fix everything.
Can I get this firmware back? Is it archived somewhere, or does somebody have the original yaml (without any updates that might have been introduced later) and would post it here?
Or what do you suggest I do?
Thank you in advance for your help ๐
